Life/Business Update

In a bid to consolidate my time and become more productive and less stressed about life, I have added times that I am open to my Facebook page and below pertaining to my business, Red Hawk Ridge.

For those who don’t know, it is a legit business, not a hobby. I even have an EIN 😀

I will be imposing these times on myself. I may “work from home,” but if I don’t put these limitations in place, I will hinder the growth of the business I wish to grow to eventually provide full-time for my family.

I will work after hours on established projects when able, and times are subject to be extended in the future as my business grows, but for now, these are my business hours:

Monday9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Tuesday9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Wednesday9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Thursday9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Friday9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

I’ve been working part-time at my local “big-box” retail store now (due to necessity) since August, which takes away a lot of the time I had to work on projects in the evenings when my husband is home to watch our son. It really put a strain on the publishing process of Blood for Honor, and yet I managed to get it done. But I can’t ignore the strain it put on my family. That being said, I’m not willing to stress myself out like that every day of my life. I will not allow doing what I love to become a burden to me. I got it done, and I have more stories to write, so I’m putting limits on myself now so that I don’t have to deal with the mess I’ve already endured later. And don’t forget about my Editing Services. Those are major components of Red Hawk Ridge. It’s not just about me.

Email me at with business inquiries, follow me on social media, or DM me. I will answer if it’s something pertinent to my business or that I feel led to reply to, but I’ve also been known to ignore messages that are off-topic about what I do.

I post this in my process of learning to enjoy “work.” That includes a full-time job of raising a 3-year-old son without full-time daycare while working part-time and trying to grow a business. I’m done with unnecessary stress. I know it comes with life, but I also have a say in it. And I’m putting my foot down on some things that my God has pointed out to me. Some may not understand that, and that’s fine. All that matters is that you respect my wishes. We don’t have to believe in the same thing to get along.

Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., are Red Hawk Ridge business hours–minus major holidays, of course. I will be closed on the weekend while I work and try to catch up on my life left unattended throughout the week. I am also a part of Seasoned by Fire if anyone is interested in music.

The coming of Spring felt like the right time to put this all out there as I approach the one-year Anniversary of Red Hawk Ridge.

Thank you for your understanding, and many blessings to you all,
Emma Lee Joy
