Life likes to throw curveballs as soon as I think I have something figured out.
I got fired for the first time in my thirty-one years from a place I have worked at three different times over the past ten years for attendance, of all things. I was a point over, and I’ve been over for months. Nothing was ever said about it until I started asking for two Saturdays a month off to spend time with my family, which I saw for only a few hours a day because of my evening schedule and school starting.
But God has perfect timing, and he knows what I need because after only a day of unemployment and fretting over paying bills, I got the chance to return to the place where I worked for 3 1/2 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom. Weekends and Holidays off. Calm atmosphere. Family-oriented. And COFFEE! We all know I love coffee.
Anyway, I did not get anything written this week for ‘The Wild Assault.’ I got a few words down last Friday after my previous update was posted, but it’s on paper, and I’m not sure how many words it is. Probably less than 300, but once I get used to this new schedule, I can return to it.
I’m working on cleaning out my office, which I haven’t been in for four years, so I should have a space for myself to write and create soon. I’ve been working in the living room with a kid running in circles and yelling for years! With evenings off, I can have quiet time after he goes to bed without sacrificing time with him or my husband.
Many blessings,
Emma Lee Joy
P.S. I have a side project I’m pondering that I came up with for the idea about a week ago. I’m just getting you excited, though. I’m not going to be telling you about it just yet. Just know I have a nonfiction book in my mind that I think will help a lot of people.
