I don’t have a word count this week, but I have been working on my writing! I say no word count because I have added some notes to the document I am working on for later. I haven’t added too many actual words to the story this week, so I don’t see the point in doing math at this time. Sorry, not sorry!
Le gasp!
Did I say taking notes? Yeah, but not on story structure. I do take notes on name meanings and things like that only because writing or typing notes helps me memorize them. I will most likely never look at them again after the next few days, but I won’t delete them until I am done, just in case.
I will do the math next week to give you an updated word count.
So far, I haven’t gotten an email from Draft2Digitial saying there were any problems with my paperback, so hopefully, I got everything right. I am taking down the ebook of ‘Blood for Honor’ so I can add Amazon to the distribution list. This is a little earlier than anticipated, but I need to get updates in early to stay on track.
You will be able to preorder the ebook and paperback at lower prices than previously available within the week if everything goes according to plan!
When I publish ‘The Wild Assault,’ I will go directly through Draft2Digital the first time around, completely bypassing Ingram Spark but still selling on Amazon. I may or may not be passively boycotting Ingram Spark because of shenanigans other authors have had to deal with. I also had a long wait time when asking a simple question, but I don’t personally have any Ingram horror stories.
I won’t mention all the money I spent to publish with them and haven’t earned back…
I am working on a non-fiction book, tentatively titled ‘I Prefer Gardener Over Pantser,’ that explains my writing process. I’m a little unorthodox, and there are plenty of books on outlining stories. I think the world needs a new perspective. I will most likely be splitting up this book from the process of self-publishing, but I haven’t fully decided if they could fit together in one or not. Time will tell. I’m still in the brainstorming stage.
I’m getting the hang of the new schedule, and I am truly blessed to be back ‘home’ in the workplace. I’m surrounded by my tribe, and they love, understand, and accept me.
Money may be nice, but peace and joy are so much better.
Many blessings,
Emma Lee Joy
