Well, this week has been more productive. Not necessarily in word count, but it has gone up!
I managed 1,679 new words!
I’ve been rereading the first six chapters that I have written, doing some editing and brainstorming, and making some decisions as I move forward! I’m going to have two POVs like I did in Blood for Honor, but not in the same way.
My current idea is to have a number of consecutive chapters with one character, which will inevitably leave you wondering what happens next, just to be thrown into the other character’s POV, get some questions answered from the previous predicament, and learn some new information. But it will also throw you around on that rollercoaster ride of emotions and angst that makes you want more.
That could very well change, but that’s what I am going for at the moment. I write stories that intrigue me, and hungering for answers is one of those things that makes me personally want to keep reading. Is it the same way for ya’ll, or does the anxiety of not knowing something for chapters at a time turn you off? I know you can’t get answers to every question right off the bat, or there isn’t any kind of emotional attachment, but if you are strung along for too long, you can lose interest.
Writing angsty stories can be a balancing act.
Anyway, let me know what you like when it comes to suspense and unanswered questions in stories. I will inevitably write what and how I want, but I do take people’s opinions into consideration!
I’m in the middle of writing a chapter as I write this, so my word count will be going up. Check back next week to see what I get accomplished! And I will be releasing a teaser behind the paywall for my subscribers soon.
