Happy Thanksgiving!
It’s the day after, but I know you are all still eating leftovers, so it’s all the same. I got the proof for my 2024 Creator’s Planner ordered Wednesday, and I have worked a little on ‘The Wild Assault.’ The planner will only be available in paperback despite my wanting hardcover, but nobody wants to spend nearly $40 on a planner…unless you do, leave a comment, and I can make it happen, but I didn’t want to pay the printing cost for a proof copy either. You can click the link above to view a sneak peek of what’s inside the paperback!
As I have said before, I prefer the term ‘gardener’ over ‘pantser,’ mainly because I like a little planning, but I usually end up winging it when everything gets messy. I have made it to the point that I am laying out chapters and adding notes as to what should go there to get a general outline of the story.
Unlike ‘Blood for Honor,’ I don’t have a specific scene in mind for the climactic ending. If you have read ‘Blood for Honor,’ the helicopter scene at the end was written in my head YEARS ago while I was trying to go to sleep one night. I got the details down over the span of a week and then wrote it down. I don’t have that for ‘The Wild Assault’ yet. I just know where they end up and who they are (hehe).
My job right now is to figure out how they get there.
I still need to finish my short story for the anthology submission I mentioned previously, but so far, I haven’t got another spark of inspiration for it. The due date is December 31, so who knows what will happen between now and then. I got an entire friggin’ planner created in a month, soooo….
Basically, I’m excited to get the proof for my planner sometime next week; I have some new ideas for ‘The Wild Assault’ and another project with a deadline (but I’m not stressing out about it). The tentative release is December 12, 2023, for the 2024 Planner. There is no presale, but drop a comment if you are excited to get a copy. Also, if you are local and want one, I can get you a copy once it’s released without the shipping cost. Message me on Facebook or Instagram. If you don’t know what local is, you aren’t and should just go to Amazon when I post the link.
Many blessings,
Emma Lee Joy
