22,000 words!
I can see now! Hallelujah! So, I made it to 22,000, surpassing the 21,000 I told ya’ll I was close to. This is for ‘The Fire That Dwells With Water,’ by the way. I’ll probably be on this kick for a little while. I’ve had ideas and plans swirling in my head while I wasn’t writing, and now I just have to get them out of my head and onto paper.
I’m getting more of what the world looks like than the plot, but that’s good because up to this point, the plot was the only thing I had, minus a few descriptions.
I’m trying to be intentional.
My goal with this book is more descriptive writing. Not flowery pose, per se, but definitely more of what the world looks like, with colors and smells, that kind of thing. I prefer to write in first-person because those are the stories I personally like reading the most, so I want to immerse the reader as much as possible into the world.
‘Blood for Honor’ was very descriptive emotion-wise, which I want to keep, but I want more sensory detail from the environment. That may or may not make sense, but it does in my head, so I’m going with it!
Anyway, I still have Apothecary items you can purchase in my shop. Orders over $35 get free shipping, and your buying stuff helps pay my bills, so go check them out!
Have a great weekend and many blessings,
Emma Lee Joy
